North Shore Happenings

New Baltimore First Annual Smoke on the Bay Rib Cook-off:  August 7th from 9am to pm in downtown New Baltimore.  NorthShore will be helping out the New Baltimore Lions with this rib competition.  We are in need of a few volunteers to help serve.  See Greg Nikkel for more details.

Serving Opportunities

July is almost over and it time to look forward to school starting.  With school starting, we will be loosing most of the volunteers at the Community Cafe.  We are still in need of volunteers to work at the cafe from 7:45 am to 2:30pm.  This can be split into 7:45 - 11 or 11 - 2:30 shifts.  Even if you are only able to help 1/2 day, one day a week, WE NEED YOUR HELP.  We need to get people trained NOW to help in the fall.  This can’t work without your help.  Tips are split among volunteers at the end of each day.  This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience where you might not have any.  This could be a career change in the works for you and you could get a job with the experience you would get here!  Please contact Janine at 586-817-2556 for information.

Food Giveaway:  August 10th and September 10th at 10am at the New Haven Fire Department.  More information to follow.

Feeding the Homeless

My Brother’s Keeper:  Tuesday, August 3rd we will be serving the homeless in downtown Detroit.  Meet us at the Community Cafe by 5:30 pm.

The Well(on Gratiot north of Hall):  Thursday, Auguust 19th we are seving those in need within our own community.  Come anytime between 3-8 pm to help cook and serve.

Celebrate Recovery:  The group is open to anyone looking for support and freedom from hurts, hang-ups and habits.  We meet Tuesday nights at 7:30 pm at the Community Cafe.  Contact Deb fore details at 586-747-5054.

Weekly Bible Study:  Wednesday nights at 7pm at the Community Cafe.
