North Shore Happenings

Noel Night - Tonight, December 20th at 7pm at Anchor Bay High School, there will be a Community Christmas Service.  North Shore has been asked to provide desserts for this event.  If you would like to help out, please bring a dessert to the high school before the service starts.

Free Holiday Gift Wrapping:  Every Sunday in December from 3-7pm at the Community Cafe.  Donations go to the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society.

Christmas Eve Communion:  December 24th from 6-8 pm Chris and Jan will be offereing a drop-in communion at the Community Cafe.  Come, accept communion and reflect on what the meaning of the birth of our Savior means to you.

CERT Training:  January 14-16th we will be offering a CERT training session at the Community Cafe.  The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area, and trains them in basic disaster response skills.  If you are interested in participating in future disaster relief trips this training is a great opportunity.  The cost is $30 and there is a sign-up sheet in the hallway. 

Take another Step in your Journey

Baptism Sunday:  Committing yourself publicly to Christ in baptism is a pivotal moment for a Christ-follower.  Sunday, January 3rd we will be having a baptismal Sunday.  If you are interested in taking this step there is a sign-up sheet in the hallway.  Contact Pastor Chris if you have any questions.

Serving Opportunities

Hats, Gloves, Socks:  Winter is here!  Over the next couple of months we will be collecting hats, gloves, and socks for the homeless and those in need in our community. 

Feeding the Homeless

My Brother’s Keeper:  Tuesday, January 5th we will be serving the homeless in downtown Detroit.  Meet us at the Community Cafe by 5:30 pm.

The Well (On Gratiot north of Hall Road):  Thursday, January 21st we are serving those in need within our own community.  Come anytime between 3-8pm to help cook and serve.

Connnections -Life is better together

Women’s Workout Group:  Monday nights at 7:30 pm at the Community Cafe.  All women over the age of 17 are welcome to join.  Bring workout DVDs for a variety of workouts.  Contact Nancy for more details at 586-524-0948.

Celebrate Recovery:  The group is open to anyone looking for support and freedom from hurts, hang-ups and habits.  We meet Tuesday nights at 7:30 pm at the Community Cafe.  Contact Deb for more details at 586-747-5054.

Weekly Bible Study:  Wednesday nights at 7pm at the Community Cafe.

Praise Team:  Thursday nights the praise practices.
